I must have been really, REALLY good this past year as Santa Fantabulous was extra nice to me this year! Got me lots and lots of goodies and stuff that I cannot wait to try out in the kitchen!
He got my absolute favorite candies (actually the only candy I really like), this digital lighted kitchen scale (I’ve been wanting this one for a while!), this AMAZING pasta maker that you can either use by hand or with the motor plus 9 gajillion attachments to make various types of pastas (good thing I married into an Italian family, huh?) and probably the sweetest gift ever – my very own professional chef hat and jacket. Honestly this meant more to me than anything. To wear a jacket and hat like this just somehow exudes pride and accomplishment.
Mr. Fantabulous got a boat load of stuff to which he was like a kid in the candy store not sure what to play with first 🙂 Seriously, seeing that amazing smile on his face is the best present I could ever ask for!
So once we tore through our presents and emptied out our stockings I made him buttermilk blueberry pancakes (his favorite!). While he went off to play with his stuff I got started on dinner/dessert. Since it was just the two of us I went a little fancy schmancy – even broke out the bubbly (um yeah, still not a fan of it but hey, at least it was all sparkly!)
I made his favorites today –
- Shrimp Cocktail
- Strawberry Spinach Salad with shaved parmesan and sugar pecans drizzled with a raspberry vinaigrette
- Broiled Lobster tail with drawn butter sauce
- Italian Stuffed artichokes
- Cracked wheat rolls
- Chocolate Lava cake
