Dear LORD this has been one busy weekend to say the least! So naturally I worked all day on Friday. After work my girlfriend and I went to see Magic Mike.
Um I have just 3 things to say about this movie:
- I *think* there was actual dialogue and a movie plot but I can’t be certain. I think to be fair to you all, I’ll have to see it again just so I can let you all know. I mean, what kind of friend would I be if I gave you only half information, right? LOL
- HOLY MARY JESUS MOTHER OF GOD ‘dem boys are HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!
- This movie will make you want to write a letter to Santa… trust me on this!
Saturday it was 93 degrees and 147% humidity here in Pittsburgh. No, really, it’s that’s humid! Since Mr. Fantabulous and I had a bonfire to go to at my brother’s horse farm that evening I, naturally, was asked to bring desserts. However with it being that hot I didn’t want to do chocolaty type things or brownies (dear LORD I love my brownies). Thanks to my awesome TKW Family on Facebook, you all gave me some great ideas on things to make that wouldn’t really melt.
So I got to baking… Individual Pineapple Upside Down Cakes, Caramelized Peach Cakes, Mini Lemon and Raspberry Curd Tarts and Loaded Chocolate Chunk Tarts. Got all that done, even in the 93 degree temps (God, how in the world did I grow up without air conditioning???). The bonfire was great! Got to meet a few of the TKW Family members there (Dawn, Kim and Patti) which was a blast! After the bonfire we decided to go see the Fantabulous In-Laws. I so love them! ♥ Seriously, I am so blessed to have married into such an amazing family and a new Mom & Dad for me! Well we got to kabitzing and the next thing I know it’s 2:45am! Um.. did I mention that I got up that morning at 7am?! This old body cannot handle late hours! Needless to say it wasn’t until after 4am till we got home.
Now most of you would think “Hey it’s Sunday, late night.. sleep till noon!” *Sigh* if only! Well for me, I did sleep in… til 8am. I got up, showered and threw together the ingredients to make 4lbs of Mexican Shredded Beef in the crockpot (seriously buy the All-Clad Cast Aluminum one! FABULOUS!!!), whipped up a batch of hoagie roll dough to rise and ran out to the warehouse store for bulk items.
Okay seriously.. shopping at Sam’s club this morning had me worried while I was driving there. It’s Sunday and it’s a holiday weekend… I was NOT looking forward to a crowd. I think the Kitchen Gods were on my side, as were the traffic light Gods, the stupid driver’s Gods and the “Wow you still look really hot today for only having 3.5 hours of sleep!” Gods 🙂 haha There was like 5 people in Sam’s club! WOO HOO!
Once I got home I threw together a batch of my “OMG Mmmmmmmmeatballs!” , baked the hoagie rolls and made myself a spinach and turkey slider. Now, I’m pooped and calling it a night. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
