So growing up (okay, who am I kidding… last week) Fluffernutters were a pure treat! 2 pieces of billowy soft white bread with Jif creamy peanut butter on one side and marshmallow fluff filling on the other. You then would make a sammich out of them and if you’re a weird kid like me, you then dipped that sammich in a glass of ice cold milk. SHUUUUUUUUUUUUUSHHHHHHHHH quit making that face! LOL It’s good damn it!
Well these past few weeks at work have been a bear to say the least. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my real job but there are days when it can be trying (just lots to do and not enough hours in the day). We all encounter that. Well about Wednesday night I was actually contemplating making a drink. Yeah I know… me, the girl that rarely drinks wanted a drink. Well as I was thinking of that I was rummaging through my cupboards and saw the jar of peanut butter and fluff. I then recalled something I had in my archives from 100 years ago (yes, I’m that old) about this one cooking show making a martini like this. I dug up that recipe and modified it slightly to make it my own.
Since I didn’t have any Marshmallow vodka on hand I went to making my own. Literally all it is is a cup or 2 of good vodka, 6-7 cut up marshmallows in a glass mason jar. Just shake the jar every day and in about 3-5 days you have flavored vodka. I went with the recipe’s advice and made a Peanut Butter Simple Syrup (which I LOOOOOOOOOOVE) and mixed it up a bit.
Well after 6 taste testings, I nailed the flavor I wanted and apparently got rather tipsy to the point my butt was passed out in bed by 10pm. LOL The things I do for you guys *wink*
These things are sweet though so if you’re a girlie drink type of person, you’ll love them. But if you’re like me, 6 is way too much but it twas rather fun creating it and somehow magically my weeks worth of woes seemed to just float away. LOL
Isn’t she pretty???
