Kick off your meal with the most amazing, herbaceous dipping oil for your warm crusty bread!
Am I the only one that could literally have a meal of warm crusty bread and dipping oil or do I have family out there that does this too?
Remember those Crusty French Baguettes I told you about the other day? Wanna see something yummy I did with them? *grin* Yeah, I so went there.
I think dipping bread in oil like this is more of an Italian thing as I’ve only ever seen it at Italian restaurants. I can still remember the first time I had it. This is so simple to make and it’s one of those you will be making ALL THE TIME! I make a big bottle and store it in the fridge. When I’m ready to use it, I take it out a few hours prior (as the oil has to come to room temp) and shake away then DIP DIP DIP!
This is so truly yummy and went perfectly with the bread!
There is this amazing (little) Italian restaurant that is around where I grew up. There is always, ALWAYS a wait for a table but it’s well worth it. When they relocated to their slightly bigger, fancier place they started serving this. I think the first time I had it I ate nothing but bread and their dipping oil and took my entire meal, untouched, home!
This dish can turn even canned pasta (blech) into something gourmet! Just those little touches can make the meal!
