Happy Sunday TKW Family! So how was your week? How about your 4th (that is if you celebrate the 4th of July)? What’cha do? What’cha eat? And more importantly, did you say ‘thank you’ to the amazing soldiers that selflessly make it their life’s work to keep us safe and out of harm’s way? My week was super busy as I was out of town again for work. But I think because the office is so close to my hotel that it doesn’t seem like I’m working longer though in all actuality I really am. Plus my gym, yes I have a gym up near my work (it’s all about dedication folks!), is right in the middle between my hotel and my office. And unlike where I live there are a ton of awesome non-chain restaurants (because you all know how much I hate chain type establishments).
While away I got to have dinner again with one of my fellow TKW Family members, Laura. I so love meeting up with her every time I’m up there for work. It’s always a great time and awesome stories. It’s funny as my being such a foodie, I’m a creature of habit at times when it comes to restaurants. I found this one local place the first time I was away for work and literally I go there at least 4 out of the 5 days I’m there. It’s a blast, the people are super nice and the food. Seriously, the food is amazing. Their onion rings are TO DIE FOR! OMG seriously, they are addictive! One order is literally an entire meal for me. My girlfriend, Deb, makes fun of me about this as every time we go out I order them. It’s funny as when I’m home I never order them let alone fried foods. Now the only thing I’d change about these is the remoulade sauce they serve with theirs. It’s lacking and seriously my Satan Remoulade Sauce is a bajillion times better.
Now I’ know I’ve said this 473 times, that I was done cooking stuff for Mr. Fantabulous so he’d have food to eat while I was away butttttttttt…. yeah, I can’t do that. But I did get smart. I made sure there were no Lucky Charms in the house and only creamy peanut butter (he only likes crunchy). That way he was FORCED (I know, such torture, huh?) to eat what I made him. And to make it easier I made a list of what was located where and what went on the plates. Here’s the thing, he’s more than capable of making food (yes, actually cooking food) and even putting stuff on plates but he’s not on my head; he’s not sure what goes with what. Sure he can grab some of this and some of that but it’s now how *I* would do it. Plus I actually enjoy stuff like that.
It’s funny as every day when we would talk inevitably I’d ask about what he ate for the day. Now I did this for 2 reasons – one to ensure he actually ate the food I made and also that I didn’t have a fridge full of food left when I got home that I had to pitch. So as we’re chatting he goes “OMG honey you should have been here for this amazing dinner I made myself! I roasted this pork loin with sauerkraut and the best mashed potatoes I’ve ever had. I really outdid myself.” Wait, what??? I made all that stuff for him prior to leaving. So when I mentioned this he quickly said “No, you are not here. You did not. I worked my kitchen magic no shush woman.” Woman! OMG! LOL Such a brat! But I just chuckled and said “well that’s awesome baby. That means you can help out with TKW then!”
… silence
So Magic Mike opened up last week. Who went and saw it? Yeah I know, that’s not food related but guys seriously… Channing Tatum! Yeah I know he’s hot, sexy and right up there with bacon but have seen that man dance? Dear God he’s like pure fluid in motion. The man can move! See that’s one talent I was not bestowed… any type of dancing capabilities what so ever. No really, it’s pretty bad. Yet it’s funny as when I do watch movies like that (or any that really involve dancing) I will catch myself moving some part of me almost pretending to move like that. Yet when I try it for real. Dear God… my butt goes one way, my boobs go another and all I end up with is a spasm! However I would not turn down the chance for Channing to train me to dance. LOL Yeah, we’ll just pretend Mr. Fantabulous doesn’t read that last part. Love you baby!
Anyway, tis a busy week ahead of me plus Mr. Fantabulous should be home soon from band practice which means he’ll be starving (even though he just ate like 4 hours ago). Here’s to you having one amazing week!
