Man I am so glad this past week is over. My brain is flat out fried! Did you ever think “too much” to the point you actually gave yourself a headache? I was so ridiculously busy at work that I didn’t know if I was coming or going. On top of that I started to get sick however I had to go to the funeral home. I wanted to also go to the hospital to visit a family member that is battling cancer however with my being sick, it wasn’t safe for me to be around her. I actually skipped the gym 4 days in a row due to just having no time and not getting home nightly til after 8pm. However there were a few great things that happened later in the week. One was a new pizza shop opened in downtown Pittsburgh that this uber pizza snob actually liked. So for those days that I forget to take my lunch I can get a great pizza that is healthy, organic AND only $8! BONUS!
Friday I worked from home which allowed me to get a ton of work done however the headache was still there however I didn’t have to wear real pants…SWEET! Yes, it’s the little things in life. Saturday I got back into my routine and hit the gym butt-early. Since I got there a little later than normal, I didn’t want to interrupt the spin class in session so I started on core. After 30 minutes of core it was time for the next spin class to start. WOW! This was the first time I took this instructor’s class. She seriously kicked my butt and I loved it! Low and behold, my headache was gone. See, another great benefit of exercising!
Then I met this fellow blogger who works at the gym so it was great talking ‘shop’ for a bit. Next I found $35 of Kohl’s cash in my purse that I totally forgot about AND a 30% off coupon – BONUS!!! I walked out of there with $200 in clothes for $49 (SWEET!). But if Mr. Fantabulous asks…it was in my closet the whole time *wink* Next I did my grocery shopping and went to Home Depot to get a new oven light.
Then I got home… ugh. We had to cut the grass. Now normally I don’t mind BUT it was 36F here in Pittsburgh and I’m just getting over being sick. If you’ve ever lived in Pennsylvania, yes the change of the seasons is gorgeous UNTIL you have to rake 5 acres of leaves. So I chose to mulch them with the tractor. The downside of that is you have to go over the same row of leaves over and over. Which means my butt was outside in that cold weather for a good 4 hours. However mulching leaves with a tractor is not simple as we have acorn trees out the wazoo and when you hit them with the tractor they missal-launch every which way. Let’s just say I’m pretty sure I’m going to have a black eye from one blasting me right below my eye.
And then… did I mention it was 36F??? Yeah… it started to HAIL/snow! Not only did I get about 375 acorn welts all over my body, a possible black eye but then I had to deal with getting beamed with hail! Like I was getting pummeled from all angles!
But wait there’s more… somehow (I swear I have no clue how I did this ) I managed to sheer the bolt off of wheels on the mower deck .. and then the wheel fell off! Sure it’s fixable and pain BUT um… well see um… *sigh* this isn’t the first time I did this. *hangs her head* Yes, I did this once before to a different wheel on the deck. So into the house I went to a now showered and in pajamas Mr. Fantabulous to break the news. However he knew I was upset that I did it and he made fun of me telling me he was going to put the tractor in a cage so I didn’t break anything else on it. Sure he wasn’t happy but he wasn’t mad. So 1.5 hours later in the shop with my not to happy Mr. Fantabulous, the tire thing was fixed and at that point I threw in the towel. I put the tractor away and said I’d finish the rest later.
By this time I was exhausted (the gym pain started to set it), my bones ached from the cold temps and I was just done.. done from the week. Into the house I went and there, there was my baby at the stove making me hot chocolate! Yes, all by himself! And he even put fluff, whipped cream and sprinkles on it! I know, right! I had no idea he knew how to make it! However apparently he watched me make it numerous times and actually paid attention. But wait, there’s more! As I went to clean out my cup he met me in the hallway telling me the shower water was running and all warmed up for me. <insert magical hearts right now> It’s those little things; God those amazing little things.
So last night I totally vegged out. I put on my sweatpants (inside out…for some reason I love sweatpants worn inside out), one of my husband’s tank shirts, fuzzy socks and pint of Ben and Jerry’s…
