Happy Sunday TKW Family! I hope this finds you happy, healthy and safe. With the world tragedy that our family and friends in Paris experienced last week my heart is heavy. I will say my prayers for those that lost their lives, those that lost loved ones, those that are fighting for their lives, those that are trying to stop this senseless violence and for the rest of the world. Know that my love and prayers are being sent out to each of you. What I will not do is talk about nor give those that caused this a voice or recognition. They do not deserve the spotlight. my uttering or typing their name(s).
With that let’s just talk… How was your week otherwise? Are you getting ready for Thanksgiving? I’m not – well I mean I *found” a turkey in my freezer so that’s at least a start. See with my having lost my job a few weeks ago and concentrating fully on TKW, I took this as a positive experience. I actually now have an excuse to not go shopping and more importantly clean out what’s in my chest freezer. Trust me, “Mystery Container” meals are a trip! LOL I found South Western Turkey Burgers, Cooked Guinness Corned Beef, a whole turkey (SCORE!), 8 quarts of frozen blueberries, 4 quarts of frozen raspberries and 6 pounds of butter just for starters.
Now truth be told I did go grocery shopping to stock up on ‘treats’ for Mr. Fantabulous while he recuperated from his shoulder surgery. He LOVES a specific brand of Italian Ice, certain Ben & Jerry ice cream flavors and popsicles. His surgery went well though they had to do a bit more than originally anticipated. They did fix the rotator cuff tear and also a bicep tendon tear but they ended up having to do a bicep tenodesis which in non-dr speak – cut the bicep tendon and position it in a different spot. Apparently his tendon was badly frayed. Sadly my baby is in a great deal of pain right now. But he’s a trooper and he’ll get through this.
Last week, we rushed around the house to get everything all ready for winter since we’ll both pretty much be laid up (I have my shoulder surgery on December 11th). Now for most winter prep outside is pretty simple – rake a few leaves, cover the air conditioner and maybe a few little things. Yeah, not here. We had 5 acres of leaves to pick up which even though we use this commercial leaf-sucker-upper-mulcher we still have to do a good bit manually AND then we have to empty the 4×8′ cubic trailer…15 times. We did this for 8 hours straight 2 days in a row. I had mulched leaves everywhere…no seriously, EVERYWHERE as in when I got undressed and took my gutchies off I had leaves … there! Don’t ask me how but I did! LOL
Now I’m playing nurse to Mr. Fantabulous while he recovers and trying to get all of my other work done and some of his. Now THAT should be interesting although I do get to operate powertools! LOL Anyway, with that, let me scoot and go check on him. Here’s to you having an amazing (and safe) week!
