Happy Sunday TKW Family! It’s another installment of the Weekly Menu. So how was your week? Mine was rough; real rough. Did you ever think so much that you gave yourself a headache? I just have so much going on at work (which I love) that my mind is going a million miles a minute with stuff I need to get done. But just like anything life just breath, prioritize and tackle one thing at a time. And hey, it’s okay to ask for help from time to time. That’s something Mr. Fantabulous and I never really did before – ask our friends for help. As you know we’ve been working on this house for 8+ years with the remodel. It’s not a small feat by any means and about 2 weeks ago, even though the downstairs isn’t done, we started another project – the kitchen. Yeah I know, we’re crazy but kitchens sell houses. At least for me – yeah big bedrooms, nice bathrooms and so forth are great but for me I want a killer kitchen. I mean what foodie doesn’t? However for this house, I won’t make it my dream kitchen. No, that’ll be when we move. Once we move then I can focus 100% on TKW.
So with that, we are having some friends come over and help us tear up the flooring in the kitchen and move all of the cabinets. I’m kinda nervous about cooking and if I will be able to. HOWEVER if my real kitchen is out of commission, no worries as I do have my All Clad Induction burner and my All-Clad 99014 GT Electric Griddle with 20 x 13-Inch Hard Anodized Cooking Surface (SO LOVE THIS THING!). And hey I do have my pressure cookers as well so who cares if I have to cook a pot roast in my bedroom… LOL
Now Saturday we had every intention of finishing up the plastering downstairs since the plaster guy that was doing the job just up and decided to not show up or return calls for 3 weeks. Nice way to be professional buddy! Needless to say, even though he does great work, he is HIGHLY unreliable thus no recommendation from us. However before we could start the plastering we needed to go look at flooring for the kitchen and also the downstairs. OMG talk about overwhelming! After an hour they all looked the same. After the second hour I became cranky..REAL CRANKY. So we left there only to go grocery shopping. By this time I wasn’t hungry but since we passed my favorite ice cream place I wanted ice cream. Normally I do the “hey babe, do you want a banana split?” and let him think it was his idea to stop. Somehow it makes it feel less guilty if he tells me to stop versus my stopping on my own. However no, he was hungry for real food. So off to get Mexican we did only thing is I did that “I’m not hungry but since we’re here I’ll eat anyway” thing. Do you do that? I hate when I do that but thankfully it’s not often. So needless to say after eating way too many chips and salsa there was no ice cream had.
By the time we got home, stuff unloaded it was almost 4:30 and let’s just say I was not in the best of moods. Honestly I think the headache I had most of the week, being tired and being overwhelmed with all the decisions we had to make at the flooring store caught up to me as well, we didn’t do any plastering. I think we both needed it and that’s OK. So today while you’re reading this I’m downstairs doing plastering which means I’m wearing more of it than what’s on the wall. Say a prayer for me, my nails and my darling, ever so patient, Mr. Fantabulous!
