Happy Sunday TKW Family! This weeks Weekly Menu is truly about comfort food and easability (sound it out..ease-a-bility). I so ridiculously busy that even right now as I’m writing this post I have things in the oven, on the stove, laundry running, photos being copied over and trying to tend to Mr. Fantabulous. He hasn’t been feeling well the past few days and I’m not sure if he’s coming down with something or if he’s not handling the apple cider too well.
So how was your past week? Mine was still as emotional. It’s so hard when someone you love so much is in the hospital, fighting for their life and all you can do is pray for them. I’m emotionally and mentally spent to be honest to the point, I hate to admit it, it was actually work for me to write this post or create the 3 recipes I had to that are due this week. It’s not that I don’t love you guys, this job or being in the kitchen but it’s like all I’ve been doing as of late is running all around after I’m done with work. But now is not the time for me to be selfish. So I dig down deep and push forward.
And thank you to all of you that wrote me such beautiful notes and emails last week after reading my Sunday post. Honestly it truly means the world to me that you guys care and took the time to send prayers and love.
Friday I spent most of the day in the hospital visiting my very sick friend while they had rushed emergency surgery. Thank God they came out ok from that however they are no where out of the woods. Again, all I can do is pray. When I finally left the hospital my shoulder surgeon called me to discuss the results of my MRA. Oh boy…
“You have a tear Lori. Actually you have multiple tears and the one….it’s bad. How did you hurt yourself again???” He asked me that 3 times. The gist of it is I tore my bicep tendon. Now a tear is bad regardless however I tore mine longitudinally. He said I have a “longitudinal split tear of the bicep tendon”. Surgery is imminent however I need to see some nerve specialist first because when I got injured I lost all strength in my arm and now my arm feels ‘heavy’ and my hand just slightly numb. If it’s not one thing it’s another I swear. However I still work. I still use it. I just ‘push through the pain.’ I’m Iron Woman. LOL
But even though last week was rough I did have a great day on Saturday. Mr. Fantabulous and I spent the day with the Fantabulous in-laws and went to an all-day-long gun bash. A childhood friend of mine is on the police department so we went to support him and all the local police where we both grew up. It was our first time at one of these (the Fantabulous folks and I) and honestly it wasn’t like anything I had expected. It was actually really fun. We sat around for 7 hours at bs’d, ate, laughed, ate some more and every 15 minutes they had drawings for guns as well as cash. They also had these ‘tickets’ sold like pull-tab cards where they’d call a number. I ende dup winning something!
Today I did 3 shoots, pulled weeds which I think was more of that creeper vine (ugh… I’ll die if I get that stuff again! That was 2 weeks of hell for me!) and now I’m just about to finish this, grab some lunch and go back to editing.
With that, have one fantabulous week!
