Get out of that same ol’ recipe rut and try one of these delicious and easy recipes this week! This week I highly recommend making the Cheesy Ham Peas Baked Penne Casserole and Pizza Hand Pies (pizza poptarts)!
Happy Sunday TKW Family! I cannot believe it’s Sunday again. I’m sitting here thinking “where in the world did last week go? What in the hell did I do other than work?” …and I’m coming up blank. I mean I know I did…stuff. Work is still the same – gloriously busy, chaotic and never a dull moment. I say gloriously busy because I would rather be busy than not. Have you ever been at work with nothing to do for 8 hours? It’s torture! The time just drags to the point you swear it’s going backwards. You’re so bored you actually clean your desk and drawers. Yeah that’s not me at work. My desk looks like a bomb went off paper-wise and I don’t think you can open up 2 of my drawers from stuff in it. However it is wiped down – I cannot deal with dirt or dust.
So I have good news (well okay it’s good news for me though it could be good news for you if you want to buy my house *wink*). The backsplash in the downstairs bar in the media room is installed! All that’s left to do there is caulk between the backsplash and granite, install 2 shelves between the 2 cabinets. Mr. Fantabulous is doing such an amazing job on this house. I cannot wait until it’s all done so I can show you guys. I’d show you now however it’s a hot mess as I have more construction equipment in my house than I swear all of Home Depot has in its store! No for real… the man has every gadget, gidzmo, nail, screw, power tool known to man kind!
Friday night Mr. Fantabulous had a concert to go to with his one buddy. His high school friend is an absolute BRILLIANT photographer who happens to have an amazing gig. He shoots concerts. Like you know those dudes that have the ginormous camera lens that are between the stage and the barrier where the fans stand? Yeah – he’s one of those guys. He has pretty much met, hung out and shot them all. Plus if you’re into concert gear – my God the stuff he has is seriously jaw dropping. Anyway he called my hubby to see if he wanted to go with him while he shot. Since he only had 1 ticket I was completely fine with it.
Now since we live far from well, everything, he asked me if I would drop him off and kind of hang out around the area. Plus parking there is a nightmare so I agreed…reluctantly. I was tired and all I wanted was a nice quiet night at home by myself with some chick flicks and maybe some junk food. Maybe…HA! Who am I kidding? I already bought the potato chips! Now for those of you that are from the ‘Burgh, the concert was at the Carnegie Music Hall Library in Homestead (or is it Munhall?). I figured I’d drop him off and head to the Waterfront – maybe hit up Costco and a movie. I mean I would have 3 hours to kill. I drop him off to see Dweezil Zappa and head to Costco. I get to the store at 8:15 (they close at 8:30). As I’m walking in the guy tells me that they close in 15 minutes. Now this wasn’t a big deal for me as I only had to get cream cheese…or so I thought! Folks in 15 minutes I spent $128! I only went in for cream cheese! LOL I walked out of there with pomegranates, bananas, 2 pairs of lounge pajama pants, prosciutto, boursin cheese, this KILLER cookbook, pecans and of course cream cheese. 15 minutes people! I mean seriously, 15 friggen minutes and I spend that much?
I get into my car and my phone is going nuts. “Honey call me!” text messages, missed calls. My heart stops. I think something happened. So I immediately call him and get “Hey we have an extra ticket, come to the show”. So after I called him a jerk for scaring the crap out of me because of his text messages making me think the worse I drove up to the show. As I said earlier, parking was a NIGHTMARE! And what makes it worse, you have to parallel park. Yeah this girl does NOT parallel park. However thanks to my new car and the side and rear cameras I NAILED it! But then I realized I had to walk these dark streets, that were wooded, at night…alone. So I’m walking and then I smelled it… yep you guessed it, SKUNK! Folks this chick RAN like Usain Bolt to the concert venue; purse in hand while holding up the back of my jeans. They were my comfy but oh-so-baggy jeans and I didn’t have a blet on. Yeah, sexy I know. So I get there, walk in and realized we have floor seats new the front. Full disclosure here but I’ve never heard a single Zappa song so I wasn’t into the songs themselves however what I was into was their musicianship. My God you want to talk about incredibly talented?! WOW
Saturday I did a bunch of little things – made 2 types of meatballs (OMG wait until I share with you my Thanksgiving meatballs!), jarred 6 quarts of Sunday Gravy, cleaned out 2 cars (with armor all), laundry and not sure what else but I worked all day. Today I’m off to Lowes (oh the flippin’ joy.. another hardware store) and then do 5 acres of leaves. I love Fall, I hate Fall… if only the leaves fell on the other side of my fence…on top of that damn rooster. God I hate that thing. LOL Anyway I need to scoot and get my butt in gear. Have one fantabulous week!
