Get out of that same ol’ recipe rut and try one of these delicious and easy recipes this week! This week I highly recommend making the Maple Chipotle BBQ Pork Tenderloin and the Chocolate Cream Dream Pie!
Happy Sunday TKW Family from a very swamp-like Pittsburgh! Dear Lord it’s been raining here non-stop I swear for weeks! Now normally our rainy season isn’t until June/July where it practically rains all month-long but for it to happen in most of February, this is unusual. The ground is so over saturated that now water is just pooling on top of the grounds in folks’ yards. I wouldn’t even dare step foot in my yard for literally sinking down! And driving on the roads here…god don’t even try it. We are so overladen with potholes that it’s a hazard to drive. But now that they are all full of water you really are taking a gamble with your tire, rim and alignment when you drive as while you may think you’re just hitting a puddle when in fact you’re hitting a crater-sized pothole.
So needless to say last week we spent it building an ark, gathering up the animals 2-by-2.. LOL It’s funny as every time I think of that I think of Noah I get flashbacks from the Evan Almighty movie and the “Building an Ark for Dummies”. Steve Carrell is truly awesome in that movie! And hello!!! Morgan Freeman as God… CLASSIC! He and James Earl Jones have THE BEST Hollywood voices! It’s funny as Steve Carrell is who made the whole Bruce Almighty for me as I’m not a fan of Jim Carey at all. I just can’t get into his type of comedy. Speaking of movies? What’s the last movie you saw?
Yesterday we spent the day at with the Fantabulous in-laws. Always an amazing time. Mama Fantabulous wanted a night off from cooking so the 4 of us opted to hit up a local pizza place by them. It wasn’t bad; friendly people and the pizza was good. But I just am not a fan of going to a sit down pizza place and being given real silverware but paper plates. It just seems wrong. I mean either go full-fledged disposable utensils and plates or give me stuff you have to wash.
Movie Night
After dinner we came back and watched Daddy’s Home 2 and Jigsaw. OMG if you’ve not seen the first one, it’s a must! Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are hysterical! And hello.. Mark Wahlberg is F-I-N-E in my book! In part 2 they add Mel Gibson and John Lithgow and omg I could not stop laughing throughout the movie! I, honestly, thought it was funnier than the first one. Now Jigsaw is an extension of the Saw movies. They are gory and bloody but they make you think. I’m not a huge fan of the series but the story behind it was unique. Jigsaw was Mr. Fantabulous’ pic. While it wasn’t as gory as the other 7 Saw movies this definitely had some stuff that made you cover your eyes and peek through 2 fingers to watch or, as Mr. Fantabulous did, cringe and kind of turn his head sideways and look at the screen via the side-eye method. LOL While I won’t give the twist away, it’s definitely was one I didn’t’ see coming and was like “Whoa…that’s deep!” Now if I had to choose one over the other I’m always going to go with comedy but for those of you that are into these type of gore/thrillers then definitely check out Jigsaw!
Super Proud Wife Moment!
Last week was another trying week but as it’s said, “God doesn’t give us anything we’re not strong enough to handle.” It’s about self-belief, right? Somewhere amid the 5-day long stress headache I realized something… I had not gone grocery shopping in 3 weeks. Me! Yes, ME! I mean I had zero milk, juice, bread and bacon! I think I had 2 eggs and maybe 2 tablespoon of butter in my entire house. Granted 2 of those weeks I was traveling but when I got home I honestly forgot about it. Mr. Fantabulous is so ridiculously busy with his company that he, too, never had time to shop. Speaking of – I’m SO PROUD OF HIM! As some of you may or may not know, he owns his own company. He’s a mechanical engineer and his company focuses on metal fabrication for the automotive industry. He’s well-known in that circuit and about 2 weeks ago his company released a product that no other company in the world has made. His company was already the industry leader for their designs but this, this just took him to a whole new level. He’s been so busy that in the evenings I’ve actually had to put TKW on hold just to help them out with the demand.
The Mother of all Spatulas!
Oh so last week I was asking on Facebook for some recommendations for a new spatula. I needed heat resistant, sturdy, one that had some flexibility so you could scrape a bowl but not be flimsy. The search is over! I literally have found the mother of all spatulas! The di Oro Living – Silicone Spatulas – 600ºF Heat-Resistant Spatula – Seamless Design – Pro-Grade Non-Stick Silicone Rubber with Reinforced Stainless Steel S-Core Technology are absolutely the BEST spatulas I’ve ever had! They are heat-resistant up to 600F, They have a Stainless Steel core which means they have some weight to them (i.e., they aren’t flimsy!), They have just enough give to curve a bowl when you scrape it but they don’t just flop over! And they have a lifetime guarantee!
Okay guys I need to wrap this up as I hear Mr. Fantabulous calling for me. Today we’re painting the old office. Well okay he’s technically painting, I’ll just end up wearing it. I swear I get more paint on me than the walls! I am TERRIBLE at painting/design/decorating. I don’t have that Joanna Gaines gene apparently. LOL With that, have one fantabulously amazing week!
