Get out of that same ol’ recipe rut and try one of these delicious and easy recipes this week! This week I highly recommend making the Chicken Roulade Stuffed with Mushroom Wilted Arugula and Shallots and the Crispy Crunchy Crusted Chicken Fingers!
Happy Sunday TKW Family! I hope this finds you well! Things here are good, chaotic but good. We’ve been hyper focused on this house that it’s near impossible to concentrate on anything else. I swear, the day we sell and move I cannot wait. I’ve already told Mr. Fantabulous that I don’t care what it costs but I am not packing up this house nor lifting a finger. We’ll hire someone to do that. He then said “Um honey, do you remember what we were quoted when you had that job offer a few years ago across country and how much it was ($42k! Yes you read that right!)”. I simply said “Well then you need to get your butt out at the end of the driveway and start selling lemonade there bucco! LOL
Seriously, how can 2 people, with no kids acquire just so much STUFF!? I mean I guess I get it as our lives aren’t like most others – we both own our own companies, I also work a full time job, we both also do consulting gigs on the side and we’ve taken on a full house renovation ourselves. But then it could be said “well you don’t have kids so you don’t have the haul them to practices or games.” I get it – perhaps this is the new norm? Maybe there no longer is such a thing as a the homemaker and the worker bee. Just one job while the other stays home to tend to the house. No more 50’s era home life. But then again I’m ok with that as I know me personally would not have fared well in that era. I would go nuts staying at home and cooking/cleaning and that’s it. Hey I have mad respect for those that did it and do it. My Mom and Grandma did that and it was hard work. It’s just not the type of work I would do.
That’s what I do – I turn a passion ultimately into a business. It’s never on purpose, truly, but it just happens. When I was in high school I had a HUGE love for math. I excelled exceptionally well and was asked to tutor some classmates. I did it for free until I started to get paid. I did it, honestly, because I enjoyed it so the money was irrelevant. Then in college I found I had a knack for creating and proofing resumes. That turned into a great little side job for extra cash. Again I originally started that to help out a friend and because I’m that nerd that enjoyed it. Then TKW…. it all started out of a passion and a place that I personally found solace. I cooked/baked/taught because *I* enjoyed it and it gave me peace. Then I started getting offers to pay me for recipes, appearances, classes and so forth.
I’m fortunate, most definitely, but honestly I still do this, TKW, because *I* find so much joy it in and comfort. Sure the money is nice but honestly that’s what drives me. Seeing your comments about recipes of mine you made, being tagged in your foods or just creating the TKW Family – that’s why I do this. To know that I can inspire one person – PRICELESS!
Anyway, what else can I fill you in on? So we are almost done with the bedrooms. The last bed was supposed to arrive yesterday but an hour past their scheduled delivery time they call to say “Hey we’re running late and we still have 2 more stops.” Yeah.. no… So needless to say the bed never came. Oh we finally settled on the new carpet color for the bedrooms. Seriously, when you don’t have a design eye this is SUPER hard! We went with a cross between light gray and tan. This way it can go with pretty much any color you want to add (I think). LOL God I am so terrible with designing stuff. This is why I don’t decorate cakes or cookies. I SUCK at it!
Okay TKW Family, I need to scoot and get my butt back up in the kitchen. I have Sunshine Citrus baby bundt cakes that need filled with citrus curd and topped with cream cheese frosting and pretzel bombs to make. Wishing you a fantabulous week!
