Get out of that same ol’ recipe rut and try one of these delicious and easy recipes this week! This week I highly recommend making the Caramelized Scallops in a Lemon Wine Sauce and the Sunshine Citrus Curd!
Happy Sunday TKW Family! I hope this finds you well and blessed! This past week was CRAAAAAAAAAAAAZY here. We are having new bedroom carpeting installed in 4 bedrooms and to help offset costs we are tearing up the old carpeting and padding ourselves plus, since the guy that is installing it is a friend of ours, Mr. Fantabulous is helping. So we had to get 2 of the 4 bedrooms prepped which meant taking out the carpeting and padding. Not too terrible except we had to move out all of the furniture. This is one of those times I wish we just slept on air mattresses. Instead we have Tempurpedic beds (which I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE!). I will never own anything but those beds as they are phenomenal. HOWEVER…
Have you ever tried to move them? They are literally like dead weight! They are so friggen heavy it’s like moving a 400 pound sack of rocks. We finally got smart and broke out the commercial dolly thing and put the mattresses on that and then just rolled it down the hallway to another room. I could lift our Amish solid-cherry furniture all day but these beds… dear Jesus! But still, I wouldn’t own anything but these!
Two of the bedrooms are done, furniture all put back in and today we’re tackling another bedroom and the master bedroom closet as they guy is coming tomorrow to carpet those 2 areas. Then later this week we’ll tear down the master bedroom so they can carpet that. We need to get that torn down and, even if it sits apart for a week, that’s ok. I’m traveling all next week to Kansas with my dear friends from Red Star Yeast! I’m so super excited, Definitely make sure you follow me on Instagram and Facebook as I’ll be going live most of the week. They have lots of fun things planned and I’m over the moon happy to check it all out plus meet the other 6 bloggers that are going.
Yesterday was a fun day as it was Mama Fantabulous’ birthday. We took the day off and spent it with her plus Mr. Fantabulous’ brother and our niece. Of course she wanted to make dinner but I wouldn’t have it. Instead we all went out to her favorite Italian restaurant where they sang her happy birthday and gave her ice cream with a candle in it. Or course she told me she was going to beat my butt when we got to her house for doing that but I just smiled. I’m so truly blessed to have her in my life. I absolutely love her to pieces and honestly consider her one of my best friends.
So it’s graduation season – Congrats grads! How many of you your parties catered versus cooking it yourselves? I ask because, as we were waiting for our table yesterday I couldn’t’ get over the line of people waiting to pick up food for parties. I mean it was unreal. Maybe I’m from a different generation (wait, did I just call myself old???) but I would have never thought to do that. Well, first, we could never have afforded it but still. And what I find odd now more than ever is that we are such a huge foodie-nation. Everyone cooks, has a blog or wants to learn how to cook. But I guess I get it, as planning a party is stressful enough. *shrugs*
