Happy Sunday TKW Family! Christmas is 9 days away. Let me repeat that. CHRISTMAS IS in 9 DAYS!!! <commence panic mode!> Yeah I’m so not ready for it but then honestly I don’t think I ever really was ready at any point in my life for it. This is my busy season which means I’m burning the candle at both ends work-wise. trying to balance that out with some semblance of normalcy (which, fyi… I’m failing at), and oh yeah — bake 3700 cookies, make 15 pounds of struffoli, cannolis and oh yeah, shop for Christmas. What makes the latter so hard is that I am married to that man that has well, everything and wants for nothing. Mr. Fantabulous is not into sports, clothes or things like that. I can’t buy him tools as he owns a manufacturing company so he already has doubles and triples of things.
Oh sure there’s always the music stuff I could buy BUT that’s like him buying me a rolling pin for the kitchen. Just like rolling pins, all guitars are different. He has his favorite brands and sure I could just order one but I’m that girl that would buy a guitar solely based on color/design and not for sound, fret board, strings or tone. They can range from $300 to $6000 and, while he would appreciate the thought, just like that rolling pin, it may not be the one he really wanted.
So this year while I did get him some stuff we decided 2 things:
- I am buying him a new guitar in January. Just like all of the other ones I bought him, he will do all of the research and pick what he wants. I get it, “not much of a surprise” but I’d rather him be happy and get what he really wants.
- We will be taking a big vacation this year. He’s been talking about wanting to go to China, Korea or Japan for the longest time. I want to go to Paris and Italy. We may do both if I have my say so but that’s the plan. Now I pretty much have where I want to go in Italy and Paris planned out but I know NOTHING about where to visit in China, Korea and Japan. Yes it’s great to see the landmarks but for us, for me, we want to experience the culture. Off the beaten path type adventure.
2nd box arrived from Butcher Box Meats!
So of you recalled last week I announced that I’m teaming up with Butcher Box meats. I’m 2 months into testing out their products and still am blown away buy the incredible quality of meats! (full honest review coming very soon) and guys I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE them! So part of what I do when I decide to engage with a new client is test out their items thoroughly. In the one box I received 2, 1 pound packages of Grass fed 85/15 ground beef. Full disclosure, when it comes to ground beef I am EXTREMELY picky! I don’t want ‘mystery’ items or stuff that has been dyed red. I want REAL cow. My tried and true recipe test for any ground beef are my infamous Italian meatballs. Simply put, they are probably the best meatball I’ve ever had in my life. No, not being cocky, just honest. And no, that recipe isn’t posted. Why? I’m saving it for my bistro when I open that up some day. Anyway, I made my meatballs with that ground beef.
HOLY COW! Guys I never thought in a bajillion years that my meatballs could ever get any better. Seriously. One bite and Mr. Fantabulous looked at me and said “OMG HONEY! How did you make these better???” I changed nothing in the recipe; just the ground beef. So, like any engineer (and chef) I made a 2nd batch the following week using the other ground beef they sent me. I wanted to see if I would get ‘repeatable quality’. Sure enough guys they came out as perfect as the last batch! They products are high quality, health protein you can trust!
