Happy Sunday TKW Family! This week is a pretty big week, if you will, for me. It’s my birthday this Tuesday annnnnd it’s a pretty big one. I’ve never been one to fret over birthday numbers but this one, yeah this one is kind of freaking me out slightly. I’m not one that likes a fuss made about her as, despite the fact that I babble so freely on here, I’m actually quite shy in person. Okay quit laughing – I am at times. Like, put me in a room where I know no one and folks are discussing things that I’m not familiar with OR they are recounting shared experiences. I clam up and tend to be that wall flower.
So with that, I’m shy. Now put me in a room where I know no one and I’m well versed in my area(s) of expertise and I’m completely fine standing there talking “shop”. Why bring this up? Well Mr. Fantabulous wanted to throw me a huge party but I flat out told him about a month ago that I didn’t want one; that I didn’t want to be the center of attention. Some could say that I’m “denying” my friends the opportunity to celebrate with me but I’d rather we’d not acknowledge it and just do something else on another day. For me, all I want this birthday is just to be with him, maybe go out to dinner and hope he makes me a cake. That to me, honestly, is how a perfect birthday is.
Menu Planning
While writing up my weekly menus I often get asked if I make these items verbatim – meaning Monday is mushroom veggie burgers and so forth. Honestly, it depends on how busy we are or if I’m really in the mood for that. The only constant recipe is Friday night pizza. Lord help me if I didn’t make that. It’s funny as last Friday it just so happened to be National Pizza Party Day and I was making up a few different pizzas for us. Now for us, I tend to make smaller 4-6 cut pizzas that way I don’t have pizza for days (though that’s not necessarily a bad thing). It was about 6:30 or so and Mr. Fantabulous mentions that his one buddy was in the area and was stopping by.
About 8 or so, as I was getting ready to stretch out the dough his friend arrived. As he walked through the Friend Door, he said “Happy Friday Pizza night!!!” even before we rounded the corner to the kitchen. Our friends all know that they are welcome and that dinner is always, always pizza.
