Happy Sunday TKW Family! How was your past week? Ours was well… yeah… it was one of those weeks.
It wasn’t necessarily bad and it was pretty good up until Friday night but then something happened (not bad) that kind of ruined my weekend and put me into a total sourpuss mood.
You never really get over being self-conscious…
Long story short, we were having our normal Friday night game night with our friends when all of a sudden my eyes got as big as silver dollars and I did all I could not to panic.
My crown (or maybe it’s a cap – I have no clue) on my tooth came off. Now I guess it wouldn’t have been so bad but it was the location of it – it was the tooth right next to my front tooth. So now I refuse to smile and am SO BUMMED OUT. Thankfully I didn’t swallow it and I don’t have any pain in the tooth but of course, I couldn’t get ahold of my new dentist but it really put me into such a “bad” mood.
I suffered my entire life from being so self-conscious. Growing up and being the fattest kid was hard. Kids, and adults, are cruel. It really took a toll on me. Mom would console me and I learned to turn those feelings into ways to motivate me. The name-calling I just blew off and gave the people or words zero power.
Eventually, I accepted me for me, chub and all. I became healthy though I’ll never be a size 4. And I’m OK with that. However, two things I always did have confidence in were my eyes and my smile. Yes I know we aren’t supposed to be vain but when I looked in the mirror when it happened, it took all I could to not burst out into tears. Immediately my mood changed and I became withdrawn. Now I still went out and did all of my normal things this weekend we had planned however I wasn’t the typical Lori most folks know. Thing is, no one else said anything. No one teased me or pointed it out. It was all internal and I get that.
I guess I share this to let folks realize that we all suffer from time to time. No one is perfect. We all have scars albeit physical or emotional, new or old. It’s okay to not be ok and just be sad. What I will tell you is for me, is to not get in my head. I focus on all the 9 bajillion other positive things and people I have in my life.
EXCLUSIVE The Kitchen Whisperer SALE!!!
As you know, I am in LOVE ❤️with the Bosch Universal Plus Mixer. Apparently, y’all love it too as with my exclusive sale, they all sold out! WOO HOO! BUT… never fear! I worked with Bosch to offer the same deal on their white mixer AND for a cheaper price!
Just like the black one, it’s a workhorse in the kitchen. It’s can handle up to 22 cups of flour at one time and make 12 pounds of dough in a single instance. The suction cup feet keep this mixer stable while mixing, kneading, or whipping during those tough jobs. It’s light which makes it super easy to pick up and place on the counter.
The only difference between this one and the black one is well, this is white and it doesn’t have a stainless steel bowl. That’s it. It’s still the same AMAZING quality! This mixer special is only $399 (that’s $20 off the list price) AND we’re even throwing in a FREE Meatgrinder! That’s a $75 value too! Oh yeah, did I mention it also includes FREE SHIPPING?! The offer is valid to 9/30/21 or while supplies last and is open to US residents only.
The ONLY way you can get this limited sale is using my link:

TKW On YouTube
As I mention every Sunday, I have a YouTube channel. I’d LOVE and appreciate it if you subscribed there. I’m brand spanking new there and with the millions of TKW Family members out there, I really need to build up my subscription base there.
Not only am I creating videos for my newer recipes but I’m also going back and creating them for my most popular recipes.
Since I have 1000+ recipes posted, it’ll take me a little bit to get them all done but I’ll get there.
My goal is to do more longer-type 10-15 minute cooking videos where I talk to you while cooking – think TV show but candid.
Candid in the sense of – I scrape the whole bowl out (no, we don’t waste stuff in my house), I’ll get batter on my face, flour on my chest, and laugh at myself because I dropped/tripped/or just messed up what I was trying to say.
You’ll get me as me – true authentic Lori
Did you make a recipe? Leave a blog comment!
So why do I ask this? Two reasons:
- Honest feedback is appreciated. It helps me learn and grow.
- Most folks read the comments first before they decide on making a recipe or not.
We all visit blogs looking for delicious items and inspiration. What I find (and you should as well) the MOST USEFUL thing is the comments that people leave. Honest feedback, good or bad but respectful please, on a recipe.
You can give suggestions on what you’d tweak or a spin you put on it. Heck or just tell me that you loved it! Like how to make vegan, keto, or not use mushrooms.
This is how I grow and become better on here and it gives you guys real feedback. The absolute most critical thing you can do for me is to leave a comment on the blog recipe post.
When I look at someone else’s recipe I read the comments as to me, that’s honest feedback. So when you make a recipe of mine or plan on making it, leave a comment on the post. I, and everyone else that goes to my site, truly would appreciate it!
